Summer Camp Recap
We are now on our way home after a great week at camp. God was with us all week and our students met with Him on a personal level.
The theme this week was Engage. We showed our students the difference between the world and God's world. Then we helped this choose which one they would follow because no matter what anyone says, you can't truly follow both. The Bible teaches that if you follow Christ then you should be different than the world. We didn't want to stop there though because to many Christians hear that we shouldn't be of the world so they just avoid it completely. We challenged our students to not be of the world but to Engage it with the Gospel. We told them to not avoid non-Christians but to reach out to them in love and show them how Christ told us to live. We told them to serve everyone they come in contact with and to "WAJD" WALK AS JESUS DID.
It is important though to not act like the world while you are in it. I told our students that if they don't look any different than their friend then something is wrong. Because Paul said in 2 Corinthians that we as Christians should fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. Because what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
We aren't here on earth to gain money, fame, or comfort, but we are here to ENGAGE the world with the Gospel.

Obedience Opens Eyes
Last night during our Service our kids were worshiping with their hands lifted high and singing their hearts out. Then Jerrell, our speaker, shared an inspiring sermon that got out students excited about serving others. Some verses he shared were 1 John 2:6, Ephesians 33:7, and Philippians 2. He shared that we are to be servants of the Gospel not because its a command, but because it is a gift that God has given us. He told our students how important it is for us to serve the people around us and show the love of Christ to a lost world. We as Christians are supposed to be different than the world, and this is one way we can do that. He said that you will know when you are servant when you no longer need the approval of man. We don't live here to impress men, but to serve them as we obey our father and seek His approval alone.
One phrase that Jerrell really emphasized was that "Obedience opens eyes." When you obey God it will open the eyes of the people around you. They will see the Gospel through your life. But just the opposite is true as well. "Disobedience Closes Eyes". If you are living a disobedient life then your friends will not look to you for the Gospel, nor will they see if if they are looking. Our job as Christians is to Serve God and Serve People. We are to help anyone that is need because that is what Christians do. We love people in God's name. Not for our own fame or satisfaction, but so their eyes will be opened to the Gospel and the Love of God.

Blob!!!
Today we got to go the lake and get some serious air on the Blob. It's a beautiful thing to see a JH Girl flying through the air after being blobbed. No one was hurt but everyone had fun. Tomorrow I have plans on being blobbed by our 260 lb. worship leader. I will keep you posted on the outcome. But, we also had paddle boats, a long water slide, and a aqua trampoline which were all a blast as well. We also made parachute during our Mission Hour for a ministry called Voice Of The Martyrs that takes the Bible and parachutes them into villages in Colombia that can't be reached on foot because of the persecution of Christians. It was a great opportunity to serve such a great ministry and each student got to make their own parachute that will be dropped into a village with a Bible. We are getting ready for our worship service tonight that I am stoked about. Please continue to pray for our student as God works in their lives this week.

God is here.
God is here for sure! it's only night 2 and students are connecting with God on a deep level. Our camp speaker Jerrell Altic spoke tonight about praying with intention and focus. Too often we pray shotgun prayers that just cover everything. like bless this food. or forgive me of all my sins. or help me be better. Jerrell spoke tonight about praying specifically about what you need. and his focus was praying for the people in our lives that need Christ. we need to engage the world and spread the gospel but we can't do that without prayer. we must pray for the ones that we are sharing the gospel with and when God answers we can give him the glory knowing that we could never accomplish what he can. overall tonight was a great night. God definitely moved and I know he's not done yet.
I want to say thank you to all the parents for your understanding with the release form dilemma. I want you to know that we have resolved the issue and we wouldn't have been able to without your cooperation. So thank you. And I know your students are thankful because they will now be able to swim in the lake tomorrow. Blob... Here we come!
Today was a lot of fun. We played oversized soccer. kickball. 100 ft slip-n-slides. slip-n-slide kickball. and tonight we played Mission Impossible. We are having a ton of fun. you can find pictures on my Facebook.
We might have had some problems at the beginning of camp due to the release forms but we sang a song tonight that says. If our God is for us who could ever stop us. And if our God is with us then what could stand against? there might be things trying to stop God from working this week but nothing can match our Gods power. He is here and moving already. I just can't wait to see what he has in store for the rest of the week.
